Westpac launched its Instant Mortgages program through their new app, allowing users to directly achieve unconditional approval for a home loan. As a result of integrating various new systems, load times increased at each stage of the process. Prior to the update the home loan application was restricted to the use of a generic global loading spinner. I was tasked with enhancing the user experience through motion to help keep customers engaged for longer. The result was a suite of custom key-framed vector animations which we then translated with Lottie to implement as .js files.
